She won't start, 1999 Ram 1500 5.2
 

Tried to start her up this morning no luck. She spins strong and sputters a bit but won't hook. You can smell gas. If I give it gas then it won;t even sputter.I let it sit for a ten minutes and tried again. She sputtered but wouldn't catch. After a few sputtersit won't even do that. I can also hear what I believe to be the fuel pump whir when I turn the key on.

I drove it home Fri night and parked it in the driveway and haven't started it since. It is very damp outside and I seem to recall having damp start trouble once before butI got it going and dismissed it.

Any ideas?

maybe moisture under the cap, pain to get to but if you can dry it off in there or replace the cap

the coil may be wet or damaged. if its cracked it will allow moisture in all the time and will not fire correctly. borrow a coil to confirm, or just buy one... they should be cheap

I dont really know, but there is an automatic engine shutdown relay in the power distrubution box under your hood, check that, it is listed as ASD.
Pull the coil wire off the distributor cap and see if you got spark by grounding it to metal when someone is cranking the engine, no spark = bad coil.
