Default Shocks

I've been shopping around for some new shocks. I was having a hard time deciding between Rancho, Bilstein and Monroe. I ended up going with the Rancho RS 5000. I don't have any experience with them but I found a pretty good deal on them.
Incase anybody else is shopping around for Rancho shocks, Summitt Racing had them for $47.95 each and if you buy four you get a $50 Visa gift card from the manufacture.
That makes a set $141.80. Ground shipping was free but they had a "handling" charge which was around $12 but I bought $50 of parts for my boat. Just for fun, I backed the shocks out and the handling charged dropped $3. Not a bad deal.
The RS 9000XL have a $100 rebate.

The rebate was for all RS 5000 and 9000XL series shocks. I have the 4x4 "Off Road" edition that has a factory lift. I'm not sure if it's a 1.5 or 3 inch lift.
I ordered RS5221 for the front and RS5198 for the rear.
I hope this helps.

I would have gotten the Bilsteins over the RS5000. The RS9000XL is an awesome shock. That's what I run.

The 9000s and the Bilsteins were almost twice the price of the RS5000. I just couldn't justify it seeing that the Ram isn't my daily driver and when I do drive it, it's mostly highway miles.
In August, depending on how things go, I'm probable going to turn it over to the kids for a daily driver.
Other than that, some light towing to pull my ski boat out for semi-annual service, some major towing to service the BIG boat and a couple of trips to the deer pasture, the duck factory, and once a year the bumpy 60 miles of beach for some salt water fishing. However, next year I'm hoping to spend more time time hunting and fishing but I've been saying that for the past four years.
The original shocks seemed to treat me fair enough. I'll report back after I put the new ones through the paces.
