Default Synthetic Blend Engine Oil

I have a question on synthetic blend oil. I tried searching around to see how often this should be changed (assuming normal New England daily driving conditions). Conventional oil is around 3,000 miles. Synthetic varies from 5,000 to 25,000. Does anyone know the recommended frequency for synthetic blend?

every 3000. Synthetic blend is no different from regular dyno oil. It's all marketing.

30% synthetic and 70% Dino. Why not just run a full synthetic. Its not like its that expensive.

Do either 3 or 5,000 mile changes.

What I was trying to point out is that there's not enough synthetic in the synthetic blend to make a difference.

I change both dino and synthetic at 5000 miles. Could maybe go longer but not worth it to me.

Default Blend Drain Cycle

I agree Blends should be changed every 3-5K depending on the brand. Full synthetics range from 7,500 to 25 even 35K depending on the type. Full is only a few cents more to get the added protection and the extended drain cycle. Why not consider full synthetic. Increased fuel economy, reduced emissions, longer life, lower overall cost, less time changing oil more time playing. www.lubedealer.com/needmoreoils

I got the castrol syntec blend because it was on sale at autozone. When quaker state torque power 4x4 synthetic goes on sale GET THAT. stock up on it. It is the oil that my truck has liked the best. the 10W40 seems like a 5W30. The engine loved it. I also used some lucas oil additive to thicken it up. When i changed the oil 300K miles later, it still had good viscosity and was not broken down as much as Mobil 1 synthetic.

I highly recommend Quaker state 4x4 torque power. Autozone actually sold out of it when they had the oil change special sale on it. (25 bucks for it and a bosch filter).

To be honest, we could all sit here and argue about which oil is better until we're blue in the face. The topic was synthetic blends.

I say go full synthetic. Do some research, pick a brand. Mobil 1 is tested and true, Royal Purple comes highly recommended by many people here. Castrol seems to be decent.
