4.7L Cam Swap Information
I've received several request for the links to the cam swap threads. There are two, the one that Trucky created and the FAQ that Eric made for us. I'm going to sticky this here with both threads.

so which cam are we using here? i am going to be swapping out for a 4.10 gear and putting some h/o cams in..found a buddy who can help me with it out here. also want to do the fastman tb and exhaust. wish i had all the money to do it at once lol
ive seen people using 3.92 gear and 4.10 which would you suggest? |
I would go with 4.10's but idk what else you plan on doing to it or what you use the truck for.

its just going to be my daily driver, but just looking to get some more power out of it
|
If you tow alot i would say 4.10's because it will help get up to speed better but you might loose some mpg at 65+mph but 9.92's and 4.10's are real close so if it comes down to it what ever you can get a better deal on i guess.
|
eh i dont do much towing, dont have the toys (yet... :))
so im guessing the 3.92 will be better for me? good balance between power and mpg? |
I would say 3.92 gears and HO cams and you will be set.
|
my room mates friend said he would do the gear swap for $300 in labor alone...worth it?
