It shouldn't leave marks...if it would, there's a few products that'll take them right off. I can't remember the names of them however...it's still too early.
Good point about the tonneau....I didn't realize you already had a soft cover...I wouldn't get a hard one, then, if I were you either.

When I did the ones on my last car it left some of the glue/tape on the car. I just put a little more head to it and wiped it off with my finger. Bug and Tar remover also works if you have a can of that. If you heat the badge up and and do it like I said then you can definitely put it back on. You should be able to use the glue that's already on it if you heat it back up and stick it on. If not then just go buy some of that 3M double sided tape and it will hold it on there forever.
Yeah, I didn't know that you already had a cover either. I think it would look good on the hood of the truck also because it has such a slant to it. The people in front of you at a light will look in their mirror and see a ram head on their ***.
