Let's Mod My Truck! I Need Ideas

OK, here's my truck:
http://www.mickzone.com/pics/truck.jpg

It's an '05 with only 17,000 miles on it.
V8 Magnum, 4x4.

I'd like to do a little bit of stuff to it, but I'm not sure.
I think that it looks a little too low to the ground, so maybe a little lift added on.

I'm also thinking of getting a topper/cap (depending on where you're from) to be able to store my bike when I'm on the road.

Right now, it's a pretty quiet truck. Maybe I can do something to make it bark a little.

I don't want to spend much money, of course. I also would like to keep my gas mileage about the same, 16mpg, or better if possible.

Here's the deal though - I know where to put the gas in it. That's about all that I know about vehicles. However, I have friends that can help, and I am more that willing to learn.

I'd appreciate any ideas that you all, or y'all (depending on where you're from) could provide.

Thanks!

Well,

You can lift the truck 2" if you want. Two of us just did this last week. Myself, and Daklorado.

Here is my thread with pictures of the results from a daystar 2" front and rear 2" blocks:

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ps-inside.html

Here is Daklorado "how too" with picutres:

And here is a thread with everyone who has a 2" lift in the front, and none or 2" in the rear:

Cost is cheap, the front end leveling 2" kit is around $80-$150 depending on brand, and the rear can be done as cheap as $25.

Your truck looks great, seems brand new.

one of the best things, is a 180 thermostat. napa # 530080, cost is $6.00, a single catback exhaust wont run that much, less than $200, find a nice muffler like magnaflow or cherry bomb, stay away from flowmaster, and bring it to the local guy, let him bend and hang the exhaust, way cheaper than a kit. k/n makes a great intake, i picked mine up off ebay for 212.00. superchips just came out with a programer for our trucks. its well worth the money at just under $400.00, there is a thread in our section about what to get for our trucks. look into it there are a lot of good ideas.

Agree with superdak, Addition to it, debadge it, take the 4x4 off the side (also debadging it) put lights behind the grill. Just browse thru this forum adn see what others have done. Also check out the ram section, some of those guys have gone NUTS! (no stay away from the truck nutz) LOL

AVS window visors always look good

Altair Feb 28, 2009 11:56 PM

Well the guys above me have it covered pretty well, just wanted to add if you do windows visors I have the in-channel EGR slimlines and I really like them. They look good, don't stick out too far and they slide in the window channel with no adhesives, no trouble with them staying up there but I could pull them both out in less than 5 minutes if I decided I didn't like them down the road.

Nice find on that list. I'm tempted to print it out and leave it on select vehicles in the neighbourhood. :D
