rancho struts
i just got my rancho shocks and struts in and noticed that some of you guys have said something about a black plastic piece that come with the struts. i didn't get any with mine are they nesisary or do i take the ones off my old struts.

Not needed, not used. I imagine it's included to keep from chewing up the box during shipping. My boxes were shredded and missing parts.

Reuse the old ones, they protect the strut shaft, just like the rubber/plastic boot on the rear protect the shaft.

If you live in an area that salts the roads, I would recommend dousing all of the shock bolts with PB blaster for a few days prior to doing the install. And give yourself 3x as much time as you think it will take to install them.

Agree with moto... Soak them up for a while and make sure to give yourself some time to get them done....

yea i just talked to rancho and they said they are dust covers and don't come with the struts like i thought or seen from other people on here. i did get the read shocks installed and was kinda worried about the shocks and rancho stated that they are not gas charged it is filled with something like bubble wrap. with any luck me and a friend will get the struts installed in a few weeks. i thank you guys for the help.
