I did this.

I need to change the hard 90 for a curved one. I used that horrible 2" pvc everyone's talking about. Still need to fab up a box.

over compensating for the really horrible PVC he used, is my guess... LOL

It's the 6" spectre filter from autozone. It has a 3" "mouth" that I reduced to 2". Kind of an optical illusion. I get that cool sound and improved throttle that everyone talks about, but I'm trying to talk an uncle who's in the hvac biz to bend me a box that will go around the filter and the coolant reservoir to get cool air from the front. It would be even better if he could insulate the inside of it.

i haven't seen anything that'll really keep hot air away
but this might help i put my stock air box in and just moved
it foward a little bit.

When I was using my functional ram air system with hood scoop my intake temps dropped by 20 degrees or so over the stock air box.
