When I had my passanger side done it was about $235 for the part, labor and an alignment. For both, expect to pay about $350 or so depending on the shop.
The ball joints themselves are about $50 from orielly if you can find somone to put them in. You can always try buying the parts and taking it to a shop and offering to pay cash. Normally they can give you a good deal because it will just be a side job.

They just replaced the lower ball joints themselves. Ended up being $617 for both lower ball joints and a tranny flush. OUCH! That makes about $2000 in maintenance/repairs in the 10 months I have owned it, plus around $1000 in cosmetic fixes. I hope this truck doesn't need any work for a little while. It only has 41k on it.

I am having the same issue with my dakota also the ball joint-i called chysler and they are going to replace them-that is when they find the part-the dealership is having problems finding the part cause I have a quad-cant drive it because i am scared it will break-what to do-unsure.
