Can I run 235/75-16 tires on it? I can get a super deal on that size right now, and I don't really like the wider tires anyways.
Factory steel wheels are 16x7. They offered a 16x8 in an alloy.

OK, so I goofed and misstated the rim size, but that still doesn't answer my question about running 235/75-16 tires on the truck.
Any comments?

245/70-16 = 29.5" diameter, 9.65" width
235/75-16 = 29.88" diameter, 9.25" width

Slightly taller, slightly narrower. Should fit no problems. For future reference, I find this site extremely helpful in gauging different tire sizes...

Default just a body lift

I have a 05 Dakota with the factory 265/65 r17 wheels. i was given a set of 265/70 r17 tires that have 75% tread left. after researching tires i have come to like the 265/70 size better because there are more options. I was wondering if anyone just put the 3in body lift on the truck to fit this size tire. I see a lot of people put the leveling kits on their trucks, but i want to stay away from the suspension aspect of things and maintain it stock. I was just wanting some opinions on this idea.

I have a similar question. I have a stock 07 Dakota SLT. I was wondering how bad it would be if I had 265-70-17 tires installed on stock suspension. I currently have 245-65-17 but am getting ready to install a RC 2.5" / 1.5" lift kit. In the mean time, there's a really good deal on 265-70-17 installed. Will it rub bad? I only drive the truck once a week currently.

Has anyone tried a 2 or 3 inch leveling kit, 3inch body lift, and 3 inch rear lift blocks?
I was gonna do a 3'' BL with 2'' leveling kit but now im wondering if I want to throw in some blocks in the back too. I want to put on 33x12.5 R15 any thoughts? I would love to squeeze some 35s

I have a 3" leveling kit with axle drop brackets, 3" BL and air bags in the rear.
The bags are nice so you can tune the ride height and they are great when your hooking up to a trailer. I have a remote up and down switch on the bumper so I can fine tune the hitch height when connecting to a trailer.
I run 285/65R18 BFG's and will get a bit of tire rub at full lock if I dont have my steering stops installed. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/members/evguy-186680-albums-tires-13071.html

New to this forum and need some advice, I have a 06 Dakota with 2 inch leveling kit. I can't decide on which*tires, I'm about to order a set of level 8 wheels 16x8.5 4.5 backspacing -6 offset and don't know if I should get 265-75-16 cooper discovery ATP or 245-75-16 duratrac. Any idea on how much trimming is involved for the 265 if any? Also I have the factory fender flares so I'm assuming they may have to be trimmed?

An 8.5 inch wide wheel with -6 offset will most likely cause decent rubbing with the 265's. And 265/75/16 should be mounted on a wheel with a width of 7" to 8", the 245's need an even smaller wheel width than that.

FYI: Stock aluminum wheels are 16 x 8, offset of +25. You should stick close to that, maybe a bit lower.

Welcome aboard.
