changing dexcool to green
Its about time i change my coolant as well as my upper and lower radiator hose. So i was thinking since im going to flush i might as well switch to the green coolant.
-Anyone done this? or advise/against it?
-Dexcool eats at gaskets so i figure i should switch while i can
*as long as it won't hurt the truck i think im going for it. I will completely flush my radiator and get all the dexcool out b/c i know if the two mix it will solidify.

I bought the premixed 50/50 G-05 and it's relatively clear as I recall. This is HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology) based coolant. I'm not sure if it is compatible with Dexcool. If it were me... I would flush your system and use a chemical flush and put all Zerex in... I could be wrong, but I didn't think these engines used Dexcool... thought only GM used that.
Here's what the service manual says:
CAUTION: Mopar Antifreeze/Coolant, 5 Year/100,000 Mile Formula (MS-9769) may not be mixed with any
other type of antifreeze. Mixing of coolants other than specified non-HOAT or other HOAT coolant, may
result in engine damage that may not be covered under the new vehicle warranty, and decreased corrosion
protection.
