Default Strange sound

I was driving yesterday and as I gassed by a buddy of mine and he said he heard a loud ticking, like when not pedaling on a bike. Any thoughts on this? Also, I have an intermediate problem of it dying. For example, I had to brake really hard for a stop sigh and everything shut down. I started it back up and it seemed fine. That was about a month ago. Last night I went around a corner somewhat fast and it did it again, help?

weight shifting and causing it to die? some kinda loose wire somewhere.. trying to think what wire would cause it to all out die if the connection opened, cause any coil or plug would just run funny. Does it just die, or sputter for a bit before dying?

The ticking could be as simple as a stone in your tire tread. Check that first, but otherwise I'd look at brakes.. perhaps a twig of pebble found its way into the dust shield. Could be the serp belt going too.. or any number of more serious issues like transmission or rear end.

My dad used to own it, and he said it died sometimes on a downward slope while stopped. It dies immediately. The serpentine belt was replaced recently and a new tranny put in 11,000 miles ago. My friend is very sure it came from the engine and considering I was WOT that makes sense. I couldn't hear anything over the exhaust lol. I'm going easy on it for now, any other ideas?

How would I go about diagnosing that and fixing it?

put your hand near the manifold while the engine is running and you will feel a nice breeze that is not coming from the cooling fan

So I need to remove the tb and then the intake manifold and check the bolts?
