[Radio] I Just Can't Win!
I tried to install an after market radio earlier this year, and it worked fine with a Scosche? accessory that helped supply CAN power, but it eventually killed my battery, so I uninstalled it. I tried again a few months after, this time direct set-up, and I 'decided' to hit the radio with a 12V current and fried it. I just recently bought another radio, started hooking it up today, and of course the wiring harness was wrong. I have no idea what to do anymore.... I'm feeling hopeless. Any help?

as mentioned by Reject, the best way without spending a bunch of money on the wiring harness... is to tap into the 12v plug on bottom side of the dash, thats what I've done with all my setups, i had one of the nice wiring harnesses hooked up when I had my comp system in and it fried the dash. killed all power in the dash and everything. needless to say that after than, and the 5+ hrs it took rewiring the entire dash...... i'll never go back to factory integration.
Damn, I've heard newer vehicles were a PIA when it comes to the stereo being integrated. Didn't realize it was like this. Guess the days of buying a $20 adapter and poping something in the dash are over.
My 12V power outlet is always hot, I don't know how to change it to accessory, any advice?

The lighter/12 v power outlet. I can't see tapping into the OBDII wiring doing anything positive.
