05 Dakota mega cab lift kit 4x4
Hey so I am looking to put a lift kit on an 05 dodge Dakota mega cab 4x4. I have tires and rims for it already. tire size is lt305/70r16. what size lift would I need to install these and where can I find this lift online to buy it. I have found plenty of 2wd drive lifts but I don't see why anyone would lift a 2wd. I can't seem to find a 4wd mega cab lift kit. I would think a 3 inch lift kit would fit these tires. Here is the link to the only one I can find for 4wd drive but it says it doesn't fit the mega cab https://supremesuspensions.com/produ...=1916075638794
I would appreciate any help I can get with this. I'm not sure what the difference in the mega cab and regular cab would be or the 2wd and 4wd. Thanks in advance! |
That’s just spacers and blocks. Does not matter. There was no “mega cab” Dakota. Extended and quad only. The suspensions are the same. Lots of good info here. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ze-thread.html |
So I started installing the spacers for the struts. Nothing lines up now. Cant get the top a arm to come down far enough to connect the top ball joint. This is a 3 in lift from supreme. 3 inch spacers in the from and rear. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated thanks |
3 spacers are going to destroy your already failure prone suspension. 2 max on the front. If you go more than that, you will be amazed at how quickley your entire front end goes from bad to broken. I ran 305/70/16s on my old 06 and managed to stuff those with 16x8.5 wheel and a -6 offset with a 2 level and a sawzall. |
2" is dang hard, 3" is near impossible. Plus, as stated, without a diff drop, you will destroy your front end in short order...that being said, you can try what I did. Use a floor jack and a ratchet strap to squeeze the upper and lower control arms together using the weight of the truck. It's been a long time since I did this so I can't remember exactly, but basically you tie the upper control arm to the jack, then place the jack under the lower control arm.
