front 2" leveling kit

Just ordered my front 2" lift today for 77 bucks shipped. I will definitely post before and after pics for the people that are interested. I should have them posted in a couple of days. If anyone already has done this, I would appreciate you posting some pics on this thread to show them off and give a better idea of how your truck looks with them.

when you say leveling kit, are you talking about the spring kit on ebay? make sure you get a proper alignment afterwards! if you dont, you will also be investing in new tires.

there is a guy on my other web site www.dodgetruckworld.com named nazz, he is in the dakota section and he has done this. looks ok but now the tires look kinda small.

yeah, i took a look at that, but he has the body lift as well in both sets of pics, so it really doesn't give me that good of an idea.

I just received my leveling kit today. I will probably install it on Friday and take before and after pics to post that night. Here is a pic of what is in the kit and a couple of pics of what it should look like after (not my truck).

I was wondering if the leveling kit is going to extent your shocks by 2'. If it does, how will that affect the quality of ride? (even though it's spongey already)
And if it does extend the shocks by 2", could this open a door to solving the unavailability problem of aftermarket front shocks? ie. longer shock, different P/N

Question? Will these leveling kits fit a 2wd truck?......

RE: front 2" leveling kit

These spacers sit on top of the spring housing, so no they don't extend the spring any. You should basically get the same type of ride you had before, except maybe a little more weight is distributed towards the rearend, which could be better for traction. And yes they will fit the two wheel drive trucks too, mine is a 2wd. So I attempted to install these tonight after work, we have a garage on post that you pay for by the hour and they have everything from a socket set to a sand blaster, whatever tool you need they have it. So this was the first time I have attempted something like this well I started at 6:30 and by 8:30 I had just gotten to the part where I could put the first spacer on the shock housing and the manage came out and said "closing in 30 minutes" I was pissed and frustrated. The second one would not have taken as long for me to do, as at that point I had figured out the techniques I needed to get the job done. So now I am still stock and 8 bucks poorer and a little bit pissed that I couldn't finich the job. Well anyway, I am now contemplating either tacking another stab at it Fiday on my day off, or taking it to a suspension shop and having them do it. Don't get me wrong, it is not a hard job, just time consuming if you haven't done it before and don't know what tools you will need to get the job done.

4wd trucks dont have springs in the front.
