just got of the www.dodgetruckworld.com web site, and there was a gen 3 owner that paid 600.00 for a f&b tb. is this price correct? and if so whay does the fastman have the for 180.00/with 80.00 core. are they bacically the same. and who has one. that is gonna be my next mod if they are truelly 180.00. i am going with the 70 mm

RE: tb question

The Fastman mills out the factory bodies some others are completely brand new, when I switch it's going to be Fastman,$600 that sounds high even for a new one he must of had it polished or something,I checked F&B's site didn't see any prices,KRC wants $419 CNC billet 70mm,I just stuck my K&N CAI back on,great compliment to the JBA headers, was going to hold off on buyingsome tires doesn't look like thats going to happen now.

$600 for a modded tb? That's insane. My final cost after sending in my core to the Fastman was $204. Excellent work.

I was just checking out KRC they have 72mm F&B for $450 that guy that paid $600 must of bought from a distributor and got hit with a mark up.

I'd go with the F&B. I've heard a lot of good things about them in the past. I'm thinking that when I get money for my next mod, it'll be the TB from them.

RE: tb question

70 mm sounds a little large. Have you seen any dyno charts with it on your motor? I would go with a 68 mm.

RE: tb question

i agree withvirused. after talking to the fastman and looking at dyno charts its seems like the best throttle body bore width is 68.5mm. unless your gonna do inner engine work and change the width inside, its not worth going for anything bigger than a 70mm.

What kind of gains did you get from the new tb? Did you notice a change in mileage? Did you also get a JetChip Stage II to compensate the fuel/air mix?

Throttle response improvement for sure. Didn't really notice on mpg as I have kind of a heavy foot. I alreadyhad the Jet Stage II and 180 stat in for a couple of months when I did the TB.
