$#@&%$ Power Steering

Sorry, but I have to vent somewhere and rather than subjecting my roomates to that I am going to do it here. I just got off work, and ho hum ho hum I am walking to my truck, when, lo and behold, Purple substance in the snow below my engine compartment. It appears that all of my power steering fluid has leaked out of the truck. The kicker? The truck is 7mos old and has 2500 miles on it. So now, I have to have it towed in tomorrow morning and deal with quite possibly the worst dodge dealership in the whole friggin world to try and get this fixed. Very bad day.

OUCH I am so sorry you have such a bad experience (Just know not all dealers are bad, the one I work with has been great!).
Hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction (make them detail it in and out for the hassle too!

dude you are in the clear... it broke way before your warranty is up... if they dont cover call dodge. If they give you any crap what so ever call dodge. 2500 miles, that baby isnt even broke in yet. make them fix it, and take no crap. thats why people by new.

I don't know if a line broke or not(it is @ the Dodge dealership right now). And, your damn right they will fix it. Trucks with 2500 miles aren't supposed to break.

Sounds to me like it was put together on a friday. Seems like the hyrdaulic line fittings weren't tightened too well.

Sad thing is this IS a common problem. My brothers 05 Ram did this with less than 15,000, his wifes Grand Caravan did, my 98 Fix-it-alot-kota does (pressure hose is teh problem. Is on order). Neighbours Intrepid nearly caught fire (little one)from the power steering hose spraying (he got lucky when he opened the hood to see where the smoke was coming from. COuld had flashed on him.)

New vehicles can break. Not exactly common, but can happen. If the dealer is being a jerk about it, The customer service of the brand usually can get a fire under their asses.

I think if it's under warranty you can call Chrysler Roadside assistance and they will tow it for free, at least they did my brother's Magnum when the torque converter fried. It's worth a shot. Crap I see you already got it there. Never mind.
