Gen 3 R/T's?
 

I've been thinking about upgrading to a Gen 3 Dakota, perticularly the 3rd Gen R/T, but unfortunatly I can't really seem to find one at any dealerships. Is there someway that'd I have to special order it for extra cash? Or have they just stopped making them? A little insight to this would be great, thanks in advance.

their out there. you just need to do a yahoo search. but if you wait until the end of 07 the 08 will be a available with the new 290 horse 4.7

When do the 2008 models become available? Dunno how long I can wait for a new truck, I get over excited easily lol.

well don't get too over excited, because you will be dissappointed if you don't wait for the new dakotas. Getting the 2008s with the extra power will most definitely be worth the wait.

I agree, ya should wait a bit. I bought the 2006 with the 4.7h.o.'s 260HP (Same as R/T) and really think I should of wait but the deal was great...

A few day's after, I learned about the 2008 with 4.7 pushing 290 hp...

The 3rd gen dakotas are a joke anyways. They really dropped the ball. Some decals, and a stick on scoop? Come on! lol Hopefully they will come out with an 08 version that's better.

I guess I should just wait then, 290 HP is quite tempting. I'm hoping there's an R/T option.

OK, so if it's not like yours it's a joke? I loved my 02 but I wouldn't consider my 06 a joke by any stretch of imagination. I will give you that I wish we had more options for after market parts and I'd rather have 1,260hp running 30mpg but there no joke!

The RT package on the gen 3 is all cosmetic, nothing special about them mechanically. I would wait for the 08s, should start seeing them by August.
