305/40/22's on a 2013 Crew?
 

So I want a 22" wheel but I also want some sidewall.

285/40/22 look fine, but I came across a pic of the Black and Tan Citadel running 305/40/22 Pirelli's and I really like the stance, not to mention there are many more tire options and better prices at this size.

Is anyone running this combo at stock height, any rubbing? I can deal with the odometer (2.31 mph variance) but I would rather not cut into the wheel wells.

I have yet to see anyone run that size tire I would be concerned about cutting into the liner as well, definately get assurances on fitment before u purchase...good luck!

I figured as much.

It adds less than 1/3" to the sidewall on paper, just looks like more to me and tire options suck at 285/40/22.

I'll likely go with the 285's complain about the super low tread life of the only decent tires in that size.

Lol I hear ya man that why I went 275/40-22 to play it safe... I wish I had more experience on the rango to share, on my bmw's I changed wheel and tire set ups once a year and tried different offsets and widths and the fine folks at HRE knew me by name but then I had to go off and find me a wife and kids and now I bump an SUV with reps...lol!

At 305 width, do you need a 22x10 or can you stick with a 22x9?

I read that wheel width must be less than 4 inches narrower than the tire width. With a 305 I'm looking at a 12.01 inch tire so a 9 or 10 inch wheel should be ok. I think 10 would be ideal though.

My tahoe came with the same stock wheel and tire combo as the Durango, most people run 305's on them but I'm guessing the wheel well is a bit bigger.

Thinking about clocking the wheel in park and measuring the clearance...since nobody seems to know.

I have a 265 with my 22's and it rides smooth, even over bumps. It's plenty of tire!

Yeah, the Tahoe wheel wells are huge. You can run 24's on a Tahoe and still have plenty of tire. On the Durango, if you go 24's, the tire you have to run is really thin on the side wall!

I like your rig DJ, do you run a winter set up on it?
I'm hoping to run mine year round in the northwest so I really want the extra tire.

a 10 is doable but a 10.5 is much better for a 305
