Default Cleaned my key fob

I'm happy to report that my key fob is clean and operating perfectly.

All I had to do was leave it in a pocket and have it go through the washing machine, coming out in four distinct pieces: Front, back, emergency key and battery.

I put it all back together and it works just fine.

PM me for recommended washer settings.

I spoke too soon. It works but it sucks a battery dry in a day or two. Maybe I should have used fabric softener.

There might be some soap salts or other dried semi-conductive debris causing the drain.

Before replacing the fob I'd suggest you take it apart, remove the battery, isolate just the circuit board, and wash the fob using an old toothbrush or similar with deionized water or isopropyl alcohol, let it dry thoroughly, then reassemble and see if that fixes the drain.

I'll give that a try. It couldn't hurt.

Well it didn't work. I'll get a new fob and keep this one as an third. I can always put a battery in it and get a day or two out of it in an emergency.
