Default Appt for P0128 CEL (11 Crew AWD V6)

Taking in the Durango for the P0128 code CEL expecting a new thermostat, last time was for the dead 220amp alternator and transmission cooler leak. (2011 V6 Crew AWD)

Let's hope they don't forget to hook up the FCW sensor .. again.
No cars available this time so I'm riding my bike home to boot.

Wish me luck! 🤑

Default P0128

I replaced the thermostat on my 2012 V6 Dodge Durango a couple of weeks ago and that took care of the P0128 code.

I bought a thermostat at the local autoparts for less than $15.

Took me less than 30 minutes to replace it.

The DD has 85,000 miles

Went off without a hitch, got the visor recall done too. Mine has 71,000 miles and was warrantied so they fixed it this time. Plus I got a 26 mile bike ride to home and back to boot.

I like working on my vehicles, more than I like taking the vehicle to a dealership to have them do the work. If I can do it, I'm all in.

Why?

Because I know when I do the work, it will be done better and with more care to my vehicle. And another plus, I get to look over other areas of my ride that my need some of my attention too.

GETTER DONE.

I changed the clutch and slave cylinder on my 4x4 pickup which meant dropping the whole thing, I can do the work, I don't do warranty work though. Wasn't the real point of the post, carry on.

Yep, you are correct.

If it's covered by a warranty you should have a dealership do the work.
After all if the dealership doesn't do it correctly, the warranty work would/should still be covered under the/a warranty.

Anybody up for a game of Russian Roulette?

And my local dealer wants $409 to change mine due to a P0128 code. And you guys rag on me for talking sh*t about dealer techs. THIS IS WHY. This, right here, is why.

If you make blanket statements you will get grief. It pays 0.9 hours for a thermostat. V6 or V8.
