Smile 2014 DURANGO ISSUE-remote start

Hello
For some reason I can't post in the durango thread...no idea why?
Anyway, I am recently experiencing an issue with my remote start.
Yesterday, While in my garage the horn starts going off as if someone tried to open a door, which was not the case.
I shut off the panic switch on the FOB,now my remote start won't work.
There is a message which says hood is open. I opened hood and shut it tightly. The remote start still does not work...same message.
Any help or suggestions?

Moved to the Durango section. Maybe check the hood switch?

Hi sscho100,

Are you still within your basic factory warranty (3 years/36K miles)?

First things first: once the alarm sounds (for any reason) you must start the vehicle from inside to reset the remote start.

Panic and alarm functions disable remote start until properly started.
Low fuel light disables remote start (will start and shut down)
Any malfunction indicator will disable remote start.
Any door open will disable remote start.

If the DIC said the hood was opened, then check the push button switch and make sure it is not broken, misaligned, or corroded.
