Hi hfx_cdn,

Unfortunately we don't have any additional information at this time; however, you can enter your VIN here and sign up to be alerted via email when recall parts are available: https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehic...ls/search.html. Feel free to send us a PM with any additional questions!

Has anyone (including you "Dodge Cares") heard anything about when parts will be available to dealers for this recall? People left and right are having these alternators take out batteries and TIPM's resulting in huge repair bills while we all await parts...

What the hell is going on Dodge?

Hi Prospect62,

As Andrea posted above, unfortunately we do not have a date yet for when the recall parts will be available. We encourage everyone to use that link, because you will get an email once the parts are available, and it will reach you a bit faster than the normal letter that will be delivered in the mail. For anyone that has any work done related to the alternator prior to the fix being available, please keep ALL of your receipts so they can be reviewed for possible reimbursement.

In around a month and a half we leave from Nova Scotia to Florida, will we be able to get it fixed there if the parts become available? We have a 5,000 mile trip planned for February, and we will not be back in Canada prior to the trip, nor will we return home unttil late May

Any dealer should be able to do the recall work for you. If they have the parts......

Yeah man they don't have the parts. That's the question.

If they don't have the parts, they can't fix it....... That applies to any dealership.

I guess I am not quite clear on what it is you are asking......

I'm asking WHEN the parts will be available. No disrespect to you sir but I thought that part was pretty clear. I know how it is reading these forums though, sometimes you can gloss over stuff.

Anywho, Dodge doesn't know when the parts will be available. The recall is in the "interim" stage when replacement parts are being "produced and tested before being shipped to dealerships". Or so I am told.

My D is running okay, I'm just biting my nails waiting for this failure to happen and either #1) Get me or my family hurt or #2) Burn up my TIPM when it shorts out.

Didn't they also have an offer of reimbursement if you had already had it repaired? Given your future plans, think I would be real tempted to just replace the alternator with an aftermarket unit, and then see what happens.
