Default 2016 Limitted

Heya everyone, I'm new to the forum.

Right now, i'm looking to change my car soon and a used 2016 durango limitted awd, with the V6 is really tempting me. It currently has 49,000km (30k miles). My main question concerns the long term reliability. I haven't found much informations online concerning long term use of durangos, other than most owners seems to love theirs in short term uses. I do plan on keeping it a good 8-10 years, driving about 20,000km per years. What are the truck's main weaknesses and what should I be looking for in the future?

long term data isn't available yet. The only thing i have seen is water pump failures and rear a/c tubing leaks. The pentastar v6 is a great engine. If you need to tow heavy, get the hemi.

7 years is pretty long, any other issues. Not may for sale out there with 120k+ on them yet.

the pentastar was updated in 2016 models so comparing engine data to 7 year old models would be inaccurate

Pentastar upgrade[edit]

For 2016, FCA released an updated version of the 3.6 L engine for the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. This engine now featured two-stage variable valve lift (VVL), a cooled EGR, a new intake manifold, new fuel injectors, and new ignition coils. It also features upgrades to the variable valve timing (VVT) system, an increased compression ratio (11.3:1), lower internal friction and lower weight. The new engine also has MDS like the Hemi and will shut off two of its cylinders while driving and make it a V4 while cruising the freeway. These improvements help to increase power as well as efficiency.[10] The new version, however, has lost its flex-fuel capability.CodeDisplacementBoreStrokeYearsPower SAETorque SAE3,604 cc (219.9 cu in)96.0 mm (3.78 in)83.0 mm (3.27 in)2016–305 hp (227 kW)268 lb⋅ft (363 N⋅m)
