Default Tune up on a 2011 V6

So, I am about to turn 100k miles and it's time for plugs. Why do they seem to think the plenum needs replacing at the same time. Any ideas?

Who’s they? Plenum replacement? What does the owners manual state as recommended Maintenance at 100k?

The plenum? As part of a tune up? I hope not.

That's what I'm getting from the dealer. The plugs are due at 100k and the plenum needs to be replaced at the same time. The bill is around $300. But I don't know why they replace the plenum. Does it wear out or break or something?

Is it just the plenum GASKETS? That's a $15 part. I can see them wanting to change them because you have to remove the intake plenum to change the plugs. The whole intake plenum should NOT need to be replaced unless it was broken.

$300 for the whole job seems about right for a dealer spark plug job. A lot for something you can DIY but about two hours billable labor for a dealer. Sounds about right.

Agreed. Must be just the plenum gasket or it would be a whole lot more money to replace the plenum itself.
