Does the green lead have to be connected under the hood of 2017 durango sxt for trailer brakes to function? how to I connect the green wire?
Do I cut the pre-made plug-in harness ?

 

I just plugged the controlled in to the wire harness under the dash using an adapter harness. The harness was located above the parking brake on mine, pretty far up in the dash. I bought a Tekonsha P3. I attached it with velcro under the dash on the left side because I couldn't bear to drill holes in my interior. Works well. Just make sure to mount it where you can reach the manual adjustment.

 

 

That's the environmentally friendly wire.
