MJBURN, at 90,000 i would replace all plugs and wires. Not sure what engine you have but the hemi's and 4.7's have 16 plugs. the top bank (under the coil packs are changed every 30,000miles) and the ones on the bottom are done every 102,000. so at 90,000 i would just change them all. As for the coil packs just check them. there about 45$ a pop for 1. unless you have money to burn and just want to they should pretty much last a lifetime.
i used the Bosch Super + in mine Part #7962. there about 3/8 shorter on the one side but run fine if not better than the factory bosch plugs i had in mine. they are copper plugs too. its not hard but my knees are still hurting me from standing on the bumper to get at the back 2 plugs on both side from resting my knees on the frame.

Thanks for the reply, Lowrider. I wasn't sure I was every going to get any help... I was told today at advanced auto parts that the 06 4.7's only have 8 plugs, but that the newer models have 16. Are there even any wires to be replaced on these models?

That is correct. Up to 2007, 4.7Ls have 8 plugs. My truck has a coil pack on top of each plug. With the 08 4.7s, the design changed to 16 plugs/2 per cylinder. If you are thinking about convention spark plug wires, no, they are not on these trucks.

Hey Joe,Got 118.00 kms on my 2008 ram 2500,and still the same plugs from the factory. Plugged the code reader in it about 3-4 months ago and the emissions came up yellow,2-weeks ago went for a 5-6 hr drive and it came up green when we got back. Lots of city drivin and gettin 650kms on a tank of gas (125 Liters)

At about 22K miles on the ODO, I pulled a few of the stock champion plugs while I was changing oil and the gap had already opened up past .050! I thought that was ridiculous, especially hearing the horror stories of changing the plugs. So rather than need to replace them every 20K, I bought some pricey Autolite XP Iridiums and swapped them out thinking I could get ATLEAST 30K with those. After the swap, my mpg went up as well as a lot smoother idle and smoother acceleration.
Truck just rolled over 60K miles, so I've put 38K on the Autolite XPs. I pulled one plug from each bank and they look almost as good as the day I put them in. I figure I'll go ahead and replace them, since I want to replace the plug wires too. With the Autolite rebate, they only cost $1 more per plug than the stock Champions. IMO, that's a no brainier for a longer lasting plug.

Hey torque I noticed the gaps were larger to. Surprised the crap outta me
Edit: forgot to add mine were factory plugs. Not sure if the guy that had the truck before me changed them or dealer or they were factory but they were the factory oem plugs in my top bank.
