DIY-Mounting tweets in the headliner (without the fear of sagging)
I am sure that I am not posting this in the right place, but given our awesome mods, I am sure it will be promptly moved to the proper location
This is a brief DIY on mounting your tweeters in the head liner. This expands the stereo field and IMO makes it sound better. Think theater surround sound....
First: Trace a circle around your tweeter (or swivel mount, if desired) onto the desired locations of the tweeters.
Second: With a razor blade, cut an X inside the circle. DO NOT CUT AROUND THE CIRCLE
Third: Pull back 4 triangular flaps made in the last step, and with your razor knife, cut a circle out of the foam large enough to snugly fit your tweet.
Fourth: Tuck all 4 triangular flaps of cloth into the hole, and insert your tweeter. The snug fit of the hole with the added cloth will hold everything in place nicely. Worry not, if you made your hole too large, you can increase the diameter of your tweeter by wrapping it in electrical tape.
Finally: Remove pillars and run cables appropriately.
Final Product:
