going out today to get new tires,I wanted to check with you all to see what your driving on. I was looking at the Toyo open country A/T's in a 285-305/ 65-75/R20 range. I have a ready lift on my 2007 ram 1500 5.7 bighorn QC.I just put new shocks on too and a K/N cold air system yeterday. The nitto terra grapplers looked good as well at this point it's pricing that will decide between the two.
See you all later

Default got um

OK so I went out today like I said I was and I got the Nitto Terra grapplers I chose to go with a wide foot print so I chose the LT 295 /65 /R20. It may have been the 60? well it was 33.9 inch tall tire so you do the math. Any way they look good and feel good too. They had to put a 1/4 inch spacer behind the wheeles even with the Ready lift leveling kit at 2.5inch. Ready to roll Pismo Beach I hope I never get stuck again!

Got a set of 315/70/R17 Cooper Discoverer ATR's put on my truck. Absolutely love them. Hook up no problem in the winter on ice, seen them work on my bosses truck in the mud and it doesn't phase them.

Great tire!

Default Why would you change to 17 inch wheels?

OK, I got a rant and a question. I had Goodyear Wrangler HP 27560R20 on the truck as they came with it when new. Quad Cab 4X4 Hemi Inferno Red 2007. The tires were 43,500 miles along and ran great through the driving heavy snow at speeds to 60 mph and were smooth on dry pavement nice and quiet. So, I figured I am not down to the wear bar, but I got stuck in next to nothing depth mud and maybe I should get a new set. Set of 3. I mean why not? I got full size spare doing nothing so I go get 3 new Wranglers 10k miles ago. Immediately, I get a vibration in the right front, I have to duke it with some blond smart mouth at Goodyear store in NJ. You gotta leave the car overnight etc. I mean I just bought the tires on Sat. and brought it on Monday. So, her nonsense and three more trips to the store attitude gets me on the phone with Goodyear and all heck broke loose and I got satisfaction to a degree, but had to have Pep Boys balance the tires. Goodyear Store gave me a refund for the balancing. I STILL THINK THIS TRUCK HAS A SLIGHT BUT NOTABLE VIBRATION IN RIGHT FRONT. I swear it started with the tires, but I noticed the old right front was cupped a bit. I picked the best tire for a spare.
I want to get a set of Falken Wild Peak A/Ts, even though my Wrangler 20s just blew threw 10 inches of NJ snow in this blizzard today as I needed snow blower gasoline. I mean not a problem. Am I wrong with my opinion of the Wranglers? Why would anyone change to 17 inch rims? I see a few posts about changing. I mean what do you save? Fuel? Tire size costs? What do you guys think? Thanks and sorry for the long post.

Default Forgot something

The vibration is at 65 mph, thereabouts, and I have chrome clad wheels and I moved the tire once to the rear and felt it there. Pep Boys balanced all. Goodyear thought I had a bad rotor, I changed them, I didn't have a bad rotor and I have a light, but noticable vibration on highways at 65 mph from the right front. any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

PRF66 I can't answer every thing but you just might have a tire with some sort of manufactoring defect.
You might try contacting Goodyear and tell them every thing that has occured and ask them to check the tire for defects.
A lot of guys go to 17's for a couple of reasons. One is more tire choices and another is cost.

17inch is what it had on it when i got it plus im not gonna spend extra money on rims or higher tire prices for larger rims also limited to size on tire choices for larger rims

If you're into all-terrains or mud-terrains, there are many more tire size choices available in the 17" tire size . Plus they're cheaper, and if you're going to USE your mud-terrains you'll have more sidewall for airing down and absorbing offroad bumps and irregularities on trails. Most 20" tires are like car tires(tread). I have 20" Chrome Clad wheels and wish I had 17" wheels.
