Forgive me. It's 2:30 on a Wednesday and Gin has been my friend tonight.

I like the idea of the Pace Edwards Electric Bedlocker. I could wire a manual switch into my cab, AND hook it up to a viper alarm with relative ease. Open and close with key-fob -> awesome.

I also like the idea of a larger fuel tank. Because why the hell not.

I stumbled across a company that makes a 37 gal In-Bed Fuel Tank that fits under the Pace Edwards. (This is where sleep deprivation kicks in...)

Question: Would it be possible to remove your stock fuel tank and just use the in bed tank as your primary? Even if you have to salvage parts from the stock tank? And have it work with your normal fuel gauge so it seems everything is normal?

Lets play "move this over to the general section" since we dont actually have an issue or problem but are day dreaming.

You must have a lot of money if you are going to fill up a OEM tank and another tank in the bed.

I did swap out my OEM fuel tank (26 gal) with a larger 34 gal but it is hard enough to fill it.

I appreciate the relocation, I will be more mindful of that in the future. And yes, I do have a terrible knack of dreaming large.

The question still remains: is it possible to only use the in bed tank?

Why not just puta 34 gallon tank in like weed did under the truck out of the way?

Everything is possible, but let's discuss it. You remove your tank below for a tank upstairs, but are not interested in using both. I don't see the point of using up bed space for 3 more gallons then a tank of 34gal that would fit underneath the bed.

If your need is for 63 gallons, we can talk schematics, but for a 3 gallon increase???

Here is your solution. Carry 2 - 5 gallon gas cans or install the 34 gallon tank and carry 1 - 5gal gas can.

You can buy a 50 gallon transfer tank that keeps the regular tank full. They look like tool boxes. Hot shots used them on there diesels so they can 85 gallons.

I dont understand the need for an in bed tank either unless you are using to to provide fuel to external equipment to really going long distances. For most, bed space is essential. Having a tank up top also invites idiots to mess with it. Plus keep in mind each gallon weighs about 7 pounds

One of our family friends has one in his ford for hauling his 5th wheel around the country (He's retired). Not sure how exactly his works though, I think he still uses his regular tank and the one in the bed is a filler but it holds 50 gallons (Ithink thats what he said it was) just know that to fill everything up it costs over $200.

Ford 150's have or had ,a fuel switch in their pick ups. I remember my 95 had it in the cab. that could be used to switch from one tank to the other. But your net mileage would still be under a 1000 miles imo.
