Got some Jimmy Jammers Installed today

7 Attachment(s)
Picked up a set a week or so ago after a bunch of cars in our parking lot at work either had their locks punched in or handles popped out. A total of 5 cars and trucks were broken into, two were right next to where my truck was parked (one on each side in fact) so I figured what the hell, it'll at least make it a little more difficult to get in should the try. Nice simple install, took about an hour total if that. First one took the longest but that was just to figure out what the hell was going on with the holes in the plates and how my big ass hands would fit in the small area between the door and the bolts inside holding the handle on, the second one took all but 20min if that. Longest part was getting the door pannel back on, I always put it back in with it missing one or two of the little clips inside.

Pics from the install (drivers side only, passenger side was basically the same, only difference was a different plate was needed):

nice...w/ all the posts so frequent here about their trucks gettin brokin into, darn good mod. What was the price? I am sure it is very well worth the headache of a break in, and where did you pick them up from?

One of the local shops had them on sale for $30 so not pricey.

Did you install them yourself? They look pretty simple to install, were they?

Yep did them myself. Real easy just had to look at how to do it before hand so that's what took so long. Otherwise it was pretty cut and dry

Only Problem is when I locked keys in truck once had to call tow truck to open truck he used plastic wedge at the top of the door and a rod to hit the unlock button and was in my truck in less than 30 sec. did not use a slim-jim. He just pulled the top corner out a little shoved the wedge in and then used long metal rod to reach in. pretty scary that it was that easy.

One good way to bend your door frame and cause air to come in at highway speeds after the fact.
I would of demanded him to make a key since that is what they are taught in their schooling. The fee is not much higher at all because the initial site fee is already absorbed eitherway.
Heck, i made a key once in a parking lot because I couldn't get in for the life of me and I'm a darn door opener;-). Took me less than an hour and it was my first time ever.

Oh there are plenty of other ways to break in and if they want it bad enough they'll find a way in. But this will at least deter them a little more than just the alarm I hope.

^^^Yup. Beside's, I'd rather have my glass broken over the door being damaged and my door bent over the paint being damaged.
hey truckin, do they give you Jimmy Jammer stickers? I'd want to put some stickers right above the door handle so the theives know they are screwed...hahaha Because they don't know they are there until they already do damage to the door.
