Steering wheel covers

You all probably know by know that the steering wheel material is just as bad as the dodge dashes and are falling apart. Who here has just a cheap cover for there wheel? Any problems where it slips or anything or how about the thickness difference? I don't want my steering to be compromised when i'm drifting through the alps, or doing donuts on the highway, or rock climbing. Just kidding but still the last thing I want is to do a one handed steer and have it slip and i crash into a curb.

First thing...

A steering wheel cover was the very first thing i put on my 2004 which I bought last summer. Little bits of black on my hand and a sticky feeling weren't cutting it for me. I just bought one of the basic camo ones from AutoZone. Nothing too fancy. I've never had any problems with it slipping, just the rubber grips that are sown in over the material slowly coming loose at the seams and in general falling apart. I may need to replace it soon, but it was probably a very well spent $20.

Wife got me one from Walgreens a few years ago and is going great with no slip off so far. Survived a many hot Az summers and matches the tan trim almost.

I bought my truck new in April of '04. By mid summer of '05 my steering wheel was starting to get nasty. Picked up a black leather Mopar wheel cover online for like $12 to the door. It's still on there. I'm almost afraid to take it off and look at the steering wheel. LOL...

well just picked up a cheap one from kragen. Just a light grey that is all smooth with no logos or no stitching. But Holy hell was it hard to get that thing on. I though i was going to have to get my mx tire iron to get it on but it looks nice and is way better than getting that sticky crud on my hands. Anyway, dash is next on my list.

I have put my dash off for a while but a cap for it is in the near future. It seems like every day there is a new crack in it now and it is starting to crumble like a ritz cracker. I put a cheap cover on the steering wheel from Wallys within a few days of getting the truck, its still on there and has never slipped. My wheel wasn't nasty or anything, the cover is something I do with every vehicle I buy. I do have to say that this truck fits the covers better as far as a tight fit and not slipping.

Is this for Pre 06 Rams? My steering wheel is like brand new 46k miles into the life of the truck. No sticky anything and no signs of wear at all???
