SRT-10 Like Aftermarket Hood

I don't know of any that are built as solid and are going to match your fender lines as good. Going aftermarket to save money on a hood isn't always the best route. The ONLY hood I would put on my truck is an OEM SRT hood because they are much much sturdier and there is practically no prep time needed to make them good for paint.
Aftermarket hoods, no matter how good their claim to fame is, are gonna need body work to smooth out the gelcoat and fill in the imperfections. This can add alot of prep costs into the painting of the hood and at $65 or $75 they get for prep work, it adds up real quick, plus that doesn't guarantee it will fit correctly either. You may have large gaps or it might sit crooked. I'd be weary of spending under $500 for ANY aftermarket hood. Eitherway, aftermarket hoods are mostly all fiberglass and don't have the figidity as the OEM one's. They are much flimsier. If it were me and the SRT is what you wanted, I'd buy used or a Genuine Mopar SRT hood. They run about $650 new.

I agree 100% with ya dirty on everything you stated except for the price...........i got mine for $530 and it was new. Everyone else had them for like you was saying....$635-$650. As far as being sturdy......hard to beat the all metal srt hood.

I've had two Rams. I sold my 2010 Ram Sport and bought a smaller truck. I sold it because I literally got more than I paid for the truck.
Since the 2010 Ram was the last Ram I owned...I felt it was alright to leave the picture as my avatar. I didn't want to be a Ram poser...so I changed my sig.
I still love the Ram community and that is why I continue to post here.
A good friend of mine just bought a 2004 Ram 1500 Sport reg cab 4.7L RWD.
We are researching some mods. Namely; SRT-10 Hood, Lowering Kit and basic bolt on power adders.
Since the 2010 Ram was the last Ram I owned...I felt it was alright to leave the picture as my avatar. I didn't want to be a Ram poser...so I changed my sig.
I still love the Ram community and that is why I continue to post here.

those adrenalins look good too! All the info above is true. You will possibly end up paying as much for a fiberglass replica hood as you would for the steel OEM due to body work and could risk having messed up body lines. Seen it happen
