2007 dodge ram cst 7'' lift

Assuming you have a 4x2 if you used coil springs? How did you get 3" coil springs to work without whacking the **** out of your UCA when you hit bumps? Any more than 3" lift between control arms, and your UCA will be lodged firmly against your upper coil bucket.

Reason I ask, is because there have been people here who did a lot of testing on the '06-08 4x2 front suspension, and they found that using a 2" spacer on stock springs causes the UCA to hit the coil bucket during periods of extreme suspension travel. A 2.5" spacer causes the UCA to slam the coil bucket pretty hard, even over speed bumps and potholes. So I was surprised that a 3" longer coil did not cause the same thing on yours. This is good news for me.

When I lifted my truck with the 7" CST lift kit I was surprised to find the new coils are not taller than the stock coils but only had extra coil, they are the same height has the stock coils except they are stiffer. I think it rides and feels better than stock. I had this lift on for months now and its great.
Welcome to the forum BTW.

That is all really great news, as long as I can purchase just the CST coils LoL
I've been looking into swapping in coils from a 2500 CTD, but haven't been able to find all of the specs I need to make sure they will fit and do what I want them to. I'm looking to really stiffen up the suspension, and it sounds like the CST coils are it.

Seeing the pics, it all makes sense now. The 3" lift spindles I installed are the same height and angle as the stock spindles, but lift is achieved by moving the hub mount down. Unlike the spindles I installed, the CST spindles are longer and angled differently, allowing for more room between the upper and lower arm. This lets the UCA sit at nearly its normal position even though the spring is lifting the truck. My 3" spindle, with those CST springs, would likely provide the same amount of lift, but would still cause the damned UCA to contact the coil bucket. I love my '08, I really do, but the UCA on the '02-05 1500 was better for lifting, IMO.

If anybody has questions about the 2006-2008 dodge ram 2wd CST lift, I will be happy to help. If you are the DIY guy I can post any pics you need. I put the entire lift on myself in about 6 hours and the only thing I did not do was the alignment, you will have a positive camber after the lift. You will not need a camber kit. cost me $129 at Goodyear to fix camber.
