Default Fog light switch location

On my 2003 2500 it has fog lights and there is a separate switch to the right of the headlight switch to operate the fog lights. The switch can be on but the fogs do not come on until the headlights are turned on, low beam of course.

I am used to the headlight switch pulling out to turn on the fogs so they can be on with the running lights and without the headlights being on. Thing is I can't find any reference anywhere that shows this being factory, I don't have an owner's manual and the only free ones I can find are 2004 and up and there is no mention of this 2nd switch, only the pull out headlight switch style in the '04 manual.

Does anyone else have this setup in their truck? Is this maybe an aftermarket addon? It all works fine but I just like being able to turn on the fogs without needing to have the headlights on.

That's an aftermarket switch for sure. Factory setup like you said the switch pulls out.

Do you get a "chime" if you leave them on after you take the key out (like if you leave your headlights on)?

I can't even have the fog lights on without the headlights being on. I'm pretty sure the other guys are right that it looks aftermarket. Not sure why the previous owner did it that way. I'll have to get the OEM kit that comes with the right switch so they work like they're supposed to.
