Default Brakemotiv report...

So we packed up and headed to one of our favorite camping grounds within the White Mountains of Show Low, AZ. Enough gear for 3 adults and 3 children was loaded up to include enough food and firewood (6 bundles) to last 5 days of 40-70f weather. It's about a 290mi trip one way with the last 10 being forest roads.

Now that you have an idea of the load carried I'll move on to the drive. All highway, some local road. If you wish to view a 'topo' map to see the elevation ascent/descent encountered, it's from Phoenix, to Show Low/Pinetop. During the drive there are a few switchbacks and plenty of steep grades, especially when crossing through the Salt River Canyon. That is where my brakes took a beating.

The sad part is, these Brakemotive rotors failed me in a way that made me think I am being punished for swaying away from EBC/Brembo I stayed loyal to in the past. We all know how important it is to properly bed-in brake pads/rotors, and the manufacturer specs were followed to the letter. Every manufacturer has their own proven way of doing it, so I pay close attention.

To say Brakemotive produces a substandard product would be a lie. They have served me well in my Soccer-Dad duties during normal slow and go driving. It was not until I carried a load and headed to the mountains that they could not stand up to the task. Experienced brake-fade and pulsation. End result, warpped rotors and a few hot spots. Hopefully they are still serviceable so they can be machined back to spec

Now there are gonna be comments as to speeds, grades, load, etc. that will point out areas that may have been excessive strain on the braking system in general. However, I have never had this problem on two other vehicles under same conditions utilizing EBC or Brembo setups.

Just my .02

Anyone else experience this with their Brakemotive setups?

BTW, Brakemotive setup is also on the wife's car...best thing I ever put on that car.
