Default 295's on stock 20's

I know there are a lot of threads about tires already, but it seems I can't find a solid answer.

Will a 295 wide tire fit on factory 20" chrome clad rim, and not rub the upper control arm? I've seen the odd guy running 285's and apparently they don't rub, but not many 295's. Please note, I'm asking about a 2006 truck, so if it fits on your 02-05 truck, it may not be applicable to 06-08.

I want to run a nitto trail grappler in 295 60r20.

I'd like to know this as well.. I was planning on going with the nitto terra A/T... Although not as large as yours I was planning on going 275/65/r20... I figure those are the same width but slightly taller. Idk if they would fit or not I assume so but idk

From what I've read, 275/65/r20's will fit nicely.

a 295/60/r20 will be 20mm wider, and negligibly shorter than a 275/65/r20. If they made a trail grappler in 275/65/r20 I'd be getting those.

word,
thanks for the info. I might go wider I do plan on doing new wheels at some point. I would like to do a wheel that is offset/backspaced (I don't know a lot about wheel/tire terminology, I do understand tire sizes and wheel sizes).. so I might go wider than 275 at some point then have the tires be sitting out further with the new wheels. I always thought it looked great with a little bit of wheel/tire stickin out from fenders.. not much but an inch or two

You have an 03, which is different from what I'm asking

Where do they rub? Is your upper ball joint above the tread when you look along the top of the tire?
