Default 2008 5.7 Hemi Temp Gauge

Noticed in below 40 degree F. temp, my temp gauge will go pass center mark, pause then drop to half way between cold temp line, and center line. Heat seems fine.
Haven't noticed this behavior in temps above 50 degrees F.

Any ideas?

From a maintenance stand point, when was the last time you flushed the rad and changed all the coolant along with the stat?

What weedahoe asks is the place to start, Edwin. I don't see any TSBs that could be related to this concern. Has it just recently started doing this?

I've heard the newer gauges are a little more sensitive to changes and will actually move more than the older ones.

@ weedahoe: I haven't flush, and filled since I bought the truck Year ago yesterday.
Good suggestion, though.
@ Dodge Cares: I noticed first time yesterday, 11-23. temp was down low low 20's...during summer and warmer days, it stays needle thickeness under center line. it fluctuates the entire time, after warmu-up on my 40 minute drive to work. it goes from three needle thickness below center line to two needles above then down, pause....it nevers exceeds that upper limit. Heater warms to hot in about 3 miles...
I don't think its anything major..I just don't like needles to fluctuate.

Understandably so. If this continues, I would definitely recommend a trip to the dealership for a formal diagnosis. If you decide to do so and would like assistance scheduling an appointment, feel free to reach out to me!
