Default 4x4 question

in my new to me, 04 Ram. When I put the truck into 4wd, are any 4wd lights suppose to come on? I only put it in 4wd once but no lights came on in the dash? It's not a push button, I have theselector on the floor.

You should have a 4wd light on in your dash if once all 4 wheels are engaged(if all sensors, lights, etc) are working correctly.

Are you sure it's engaged? Sometimes with autolocking hubs they take almost a full rotation of the tire to lock in.

id take it down a dirt road, lock it in 4wd, and driving slowly, make a couple of s-turns and see if you can get it to engage that way. if not, then go ahead and take it to the dealer.
