Ok but the truck is brand new i should not be having these problem's

But here is the update just got a call

The Mds system had a code for a soft ware glitch and it was making the check engine light come on and the truck to shake like hell
they have to re program the whole system and they said it should be good to go
and for the grinding noise they said it's the transmission actuators they are just realy loud

Is it me or do the '07's seem to have many more issues than previous years?
Seems to be an awful lot of posts with new trucks dying on the side of the road, PCM issues, tranny issues, bad vibrations, rattles, etc. A lot more than I can recall when the '06's came out, even though they had a brand new MDS system.
It's not just the 1500's either. My buddy works for the smallish city where he lives. They have acouple of 5.9 CTD's ranging from '99-'04 and I think two Duramax's. Anyway based on the performance of the Dodge diesels vs. the Chevy's they had, the City Mgr. buys two new 6.7 CTD's. My buddy says they are the biggest POS he's ever seen. They both have spent much more time at the dealer than in service. Everything from rotors to tranny issues to PCM problems. He said both currently are running (when they do run) with CEL's awaiting a second PCM update that the dealer says is forthcoming from Chrysler "any day now".

Take it back to the dealership. With this severe of a problem, they're either going to get you fixed or get you a new truck. It does sound like a MDS issue they way you're talking, sounds like when the MDS engages at a certain RPM is when you have the problem. Worst case scenario they throw a new engine in there

Everytime you take it to the dealership make them give you a copy of what your complaint is and what they have done to correct it.

I dunno about the laws where you live but you can invoke the Lemon Law here in FL.

My advice is look up the Lemon Law and see what your options are.

And if the service manager doesn't want to give up the copies (services records)or acts dumb, ask to speak to his boss. Everyone has someone over them even the Dealership, keep going up the chain until you get satifaction.

I agree with Pappy, it sounds like the mds is just not kicking in when it suppose to, something with the programing is still off. You should take them for a test drive when you bring it back to the dealership so they can see/feel it first hand. Also have the same person (if you can) ride with you after they "fix" the problem so that there is no question to whether it was fixed or not.

As fot the transmission noise, my 05' is real noisy when I put it into reverse or drive, kind of has a grinding clunk to it but I was also told that it was just a normal sound.
