02 Ram 1500 Non Hemi Waterpump went out, need your help!

Ok I have never worked on a Dodge before and it has this goofy timing cover/water pump design. I noticed it started leaking from behind the pump and just spotted it for sure today. Is there any writeups on how to take this apart? Does it come right off or do I have to drop the pan?

Thanks your local newbie!

PS this isnt the hemi V8, but Im not sure what exact size it is.

look at the motor.... it should say something under the hood... probaly on a cover.... if not look for a sticker that explains it....

Im already stuck on trying to get this stupid fan shroud off since the fan clutch is in the way. How do you get the fan clutch off? I tried removing the 4 fan bolts and even with the bolts off that wasnt happening.

those bolts are for the pully.... you have to get some big @$$ wrenches and you will see coming out of the motor something that resembles a nut... you have to find a way to hold the fan still possibly a strap wrench on the pulley.... and crank that "nut" loose

Is the nut reverse thread or regular thread? I dont want to sit here thinking Im loosing it when Im actually cracking it tighter! LOL!

I noticed there was 4 holes in the waterpump pulley, can I stick a chisel in there as a stop and use that for pressure? How does the assembly come off? Does the nut stay on the pulley or does it come off with the fan clutch assembly>

the nut and everything comes off with the fan... regular thread... i dont know about using a chisel... could damage the pulley....
