Stock vs Aftermarket Wheel Load
Does anyone know the load max on the stock 20" wheels? I havent been able to find it anywhere. I'm looking into a set of Eagle Alloy 140 series, but the max load is only 2100 lbs. Seems kinda light to me. I do not haul a lot, max maybe 1000 lbs in the bed. Very very rarely will i tow (havent even done it once since i bought the truck a few months back). But, if I do, it would only be an open car trailer with a car. Thanks guys.

Can't find specs for stock wheels either, but since they are steel with a cheazy plasticized chrome plating, I'm sure the heavy buggers are rated a good bit more.
The 2100 lbs. on the eagles does seem low though. I just checked specs on my Mickey Thompson's and they are 3600 ;bs., but I see as wheel size (diameter) goes up the load capacity goes down, although their 20" wheels are still up at 3100 lbs., a good bit higher than the eagles you are looking at...

Found out the stock 20's load is 2600 lbs a wheel. Just doesnt seem like i should drop that much from what the factory put on.
I dont want to do 17x9 because i cant find any (besides steel wheels) that have enough backspacing to keep the tire from sticking out. I dont want flares either (have to lose the HEMI emblem, along with painting them to match, etc.). I figure the a 17x8 with 4.5" backspace would sit the same as 17x9 with 5.5" backspace.

I was just going to say that an easy solution would be to swap your 20's for a set of factory 17's as they are 17x8, they are steel w/cladding also, so I'm sure they are going to meet or exceed the limits of the stock 20's.
Cool thing about that is someone on here (usually one of the teenage members) is always looking to unload his stock 17's for 20's. With the cost of those damn 20's from Mopar, you could probably get someone to swap straight up AND COVER FREIGHT ON BOTH SETS...
