yeah, then you go from having a $10,000+ perfectly good truck to having a cobbled truck with tens of thousands in it that is worth nothing.
IMO, if youre gunna do a swap it should be with an older vehicle without all the computer crap, then you dont take such a loss by destroying a vehicle that is worth a lot of money...

didn't say id do it lol, just that its happened and is possible. I'm planning to do a diesel swap on my 78 jeep cherokee. Thats gunna be my mod toy from now on. The ram really isnt worth all the money as a daily driver.

The Chevy conversion is a 95 model. It had the most basic ECU setup you can imagine. You could unplug the computer and the rest of the truck would drive fine. That isn't true with a 3rd gen Ram.
My Hemi has another 18k miles on it since this thread started and it's still perfect. I'd say it's the best component of the truck.
