Dinging when door is open.

I have read several posts about listening to the radio with the door open while utilizing your truck stereo. I apologize if this is a repeat post. I was just hooking up my boat and figured an easy way to eliminate it. With the drivers door open take a screw driver and close the door latch on the door as if the door was closed, this turns the buzzer off and gets rid of the headache. It is very easy, just REMEMBER to unlatch it by simply pulling the handle to open the door before you close it, and it will release.

Good tip, but with my luck I would forget and damage my door. I'll stick to rolling down the windows and opening the slider. :)

Hi All,
Has anybody come up with a permanent fix on this? I don't need my truck to tell me I have the door open when it's running. That would be pretty hard to miss. :) On my 1992 Golf all I had to do was yank out the beeper/relay.

Thanks, Steve

You can get rid of that on these trucks. That's how my truck is. If I push my key in further it will make the dinging sound. Otherwise I can have my door open with the key in the ignition, and even music playing without hearing that dinging sound. It will still make the dinging, but I don't know what was done to make it stop, but it doesn't ding for me.

I pull and jiggle the key a little and it usually stops.
