OK, I know I'm not too bright, but...

I keep getting the ding sound and every so often, at random times, the LAMP OUT light comes on. I went around the truck yesterday and couldnt find any burnt out bulbs. Any suggestions? Sometimes, it dings for no reason. Its driving me nuts. The odometer just rolled over 36k miles so warranty doesnt apply.

I had the same thing happen. Then it got worse. As I would drive it would ding on and off about 4 times in a row, and it would do this at random. I started to think maybe a brake light was loose and when I was hitting a bump it would knock it out, but that wasn't the case. I had problems with my driverside taillight previously so I took that off and inspected the bulbs but all seemed ok. Finally I took it to the dealership for an oil change and when I got it back they told me they went ahead and replaced the bulb... maybe I missed something.

kinda funny, it started for me before I hit 36K, but then stopped so I let it go, then it started again, but guess what.... after 36K

Ya, when you get the message "lamp out" on your console, see if you can get someone to go around the truck and find out which bulb it is... then maybe see if replacing it works.

I feel your pain... mine did the exact same thing. We know it's got to be one of the bulbs, it's just a matter of finding that sucker. For a while I thought it could be a short in a wire, but (at least for me) that turned out not to be the case.

Its the rear tail and/or backup/brake lamps. They are a poor design bulb, you will see. Simply replace them all. Bulb#3057.
