Default Well I caved...

So I've been wanting to get new tires for a while now, and today I guess I got a kick in the but to get some. My front right tire started leaking yesterday, and was pretty much empty today.
Anyways, since I needed it right away, the only ones I could find were a set of Goodyear Wranglers. I even managed to bump the size up from the stock 265/70 17's to a 285/70 17. No rubbing so far, and they look way better, not nearly as much wheel well showing. So, hopefully they turn out to be good tires. In the tiny bit I drove with them so far, they felt better than the old ones. Anybody else tried these? Any issues?

Which kind of Wranglers? The AT/S were pretty decent, but always too expensive for me to try them. A buddy had them on his F-150 and they were pretty good in the lite mud/snow.

They're Wrangler Silent Guards.

Those look to be based on the same tread pattern as the AT/S. Maybe a little less aggressive, and probably built to be quieter. Let us know how you like 'em!

Will do, I'm driving to my parents place tomorrow for Christmas so they'll get a good 220km test drive tomorrow.

AT/S suck. They came on my 01 F150 and only lasted about 35K miles. Hopefully yours will last longer.

I have wrangler silent armor tires, been on for about a year now, they see 3 miles of gravel every day, and they dont show it a bit. The treadwear is awsome, and I rate them at a 9 out of 10 all round. Not so great in mud, need M/Ts for serious sloppyness.

If they were a little cheaper they would be nice, but im VERY happy with em.

Well, after putting a little less than 500Km on them since I got them last week, I'm VERY impressed. They handle great in snow, way better than my old tires on ice, and still nice and quiet on the highway. I drove my parents F-150 which has new Yokohama winter tires on them, and honestly, mine are almost as good in the snow/ice. And I wont have to buy a summer set when spring hits, so I'll say that justifies the price as they were pretty expensive.

Anyways, so far, I'd give em a 9/10.

It's just too bad I have to spend almost 1400 bucks to replace my steering rack and pinion assembly tomorrow.

Those tires are very nice. They have kevlar in the sidewalls for puncture resistance. They ride a little rougher than other tires, but they are much tougher. I was definately considering those and the Firestone Destination A/T's until I layed down the money on my Coopers.
