Battle of the D's

So i need to decide what to do here. i need to change my drive train fluids. tranny transfercase front and rear diff. is it going to be a nightmare to do it in my driveway or worse at the dealership the local stealer ship wants 300 to change the fluids.. and is there a gasket for the front and rear diff?? or just rtv?

RTV. $300 isn't bad if they are doing Transmission, front diff, rear diff and transfer case!
It will be a mess regardless where it's done!

Yea gear fluid is nasty stuff. I would recommend spending the little extra money on full synthetic. And I would not give your money to a dealer to do it. I do all that stuff myself.

thats what i plan on doing i run all synthetic stuff in my truck and trepi seafoam every two weeks i dont like the gas around here

Where did that come from?....lol

I would suggest using Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner/stabilizer. It's in a mini bottle and looks almost like oil. Awesome stuff and keeps your gas fresh and actually improves octane as much as Octane boosters themselves. It lubricates as well as cleans.
Running seafoam all the time is bad for your seals. It's a Petroleum distillate...i.e. kerosene and dries out your seals. It does a good job, but it should only be used maybe once every 6 months. I use the Lucas weekly for my Cobra.

+1, The Lucas is safe to use everytime you fill your tank if you want to. Seafoam should be at oil change time at the most...
As a matter of fact, I use Royal Purple everywhere I can in the truck and my Grand Cherokee except the rear diff. in my truck because my Auburn Gear LSD specifically says NOT to use a synthetic. The only natural lube I trust to my rear end and 4.56 gears is Lucas gear oil...

lucas, amsoil, royal purple, mobil 1 are all excellent. everyone has their opinions on which is best but they are all so close it does not even make sense to argue

i don't know anything about lucas so i can't speak to that, and i'd put amsoil and RP just a bit above M1, but you really can't go wrong with any of those 3 at least.

and definitely stop seafoaming so often. why do you think there is something wrong with the gas?

Well there has been proven facts with 80% of the gas stations around here tamper with the gas its hard to find a goo station because they always bounce around it hard to get them caught in the act.. they are adding water to the fuel. there has been over 100 cases reported to the bbb and the police about this. last time i checked gasoline does not freeze at 5 above over night.. diesel sure if its not the 50/50. but thats the problem. that seems to be the only thing to dry up the water in the gas unless you guys know another chemical that is safe. a couple of weeks ago it was -30 to -52 and my truck acted like it has a carb not fuel injection it was to the point to where warming up my truck so i didnt freeze meant sitting in it with a blanket around me peddling the gad pedel.

^ thats terrible. i always get a chuckle when i see stations like POWERGAS or WOROCO...like who the **** has ever heard of those brands!?? and the best part is there is always a huge line of people getting gas there. Id rather pay a few extra cents at a quality brand station and know that the fuel is in good shape then get a cheap, bad load of gas.
