Default toying around ...wraped my cai for heat reduction

well a few weeks ago i was browsing to see if its any good to wrap my cai to cut down on engine bay heat getting heatsinked into my cai tubes well it made a difference i drove around today and left truck running it was 30 deg cel today the engine intake temp was at 139 deg when i checked it after i was done it stayed at 2 different times between 96 deg to 106 and it only cost me some hair(no patience)and $17 bones from home depot i used a 25 foot roll of Home Depot material reflectrix and some aluminum tape heres my pics im going to keep a close eye to see how it holds in rain ect but should fair out ill keep u posted all credit goes to this website

That looks like a pretty slick idea. think I might go with that when I build my cai.

i was thinking about making a CAI with the double walled pvc and filling in the gap with spray foam but this might be easier lol

It's a good idea. Prob lower your intake temps a few degrees.

Only thing about that stuff is it may get dirty quick, but if it does the job who freakin cares. Only time I open my hood is to work on it or check the fluids.

Can you check IAT temps with your tuner? Woulda been nice to do before and after temps both in city driving and at idle. Highway will be the same IAT temp regardless.

I would reccomend you selling your 3815 and picking up a 3865 because your missing out on a WHOLE LOT there bud!!!

yes i can see me iat temps with my tuner .i actually bought the 3865 2 weeks ago and before i used it i set my truck to stock with this tuner then installed the 3865 but i updated it first but when i installed it to truck i would not let me get the user function for shift points and for some reason in really weary of changing them dont know why but i am
