Electric Fan in hot enviroments
Hey guys, I am considering an E-fan for my 05 ram. I saw the install thread. So my question to you is this, Can I get a pic of your efan setup? How does it handle in the heat of summer? Did you use 1 or 2 fans? Are you using a shroud of any kind? Have you done any towing in the 90 - 100 degree weather?
While I want to increase my power a touch, My main thought is to actually clean up the engine bay a touch.

i had an efan on my truck and absolutly loved it....i towed a 7000lb trailer from Detroit to western oklahoma in the middle of July and had no problems whatsoever with the fan not cooling the truck down...i used the stock fan shroud to bolt the fan to, but i see know that moe's has a fan shroud delete kit to move the coolant and washer fluid resivours

I actually went with one because I spend my time in Florida and Georgia. The clutch fan moves in direct proportion to rpms. I got stuck on I95 one day in barely crawling traffic due to an accident and after a good 45 mins of barely moving and stopping I watched my needle start to creep where I didn't want to see it. The e-fan, in my case Flex-a-Lite moves 3300 cfm of air constantly, regardless of engine rpm. Also great when you are crawling on road.
I've towed as much as 7000# with no issue whatsoever...

The e-fan works just fine here in the N. Florida summer. I have it set to come on when the gauge gets to the old "normal" mark (I also put in a 180 t-stat). The new "normal" is a bit over 1/4. The install was easy, too. Kept the factory shroud, just mounted the fan between the shroud and the radiator.
