Hemi MDS

OK guys I done about an hour of searching, and have turned up nothing. I just purchased an '05 ram 1500 rumble bee. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in the gas mileage....actually it totally sucks. Has anyone installed an aftermarket MDS system? Or know of any aftermarket kits or know anyone that has done this? Is it even possible to have it done? Is it worth it? Or is there any gas saving options? I heard tuning it can get you a couple mpg's. Thanks guys.

Well you bought a high HP truck. Of course your gonna have bad gas milage. I have not heard of any aftermarket MDS systems.

search for mpg mods. theres tons of info on them. start with programmer, intake, exhaust and look into gearing, that will probably help ya out for mpg's

You don't get a HEMI for gas mileage. Learn to live with it. HEMI/gas mileage= oxymoron.

No there's no aftermarket MDS system...do a full tune up and change your driving habits.

MDS doesn't help anyway. I disabled mine and my mileage actually increased. I think you will find almost everyone who has disabled MDS has gained mileage.

Like mentioned, the Hemi just drinks gas. Look into these mods for better mpg

Very easy mod to get the MDS system, it's called "TRADE IN"... you need an '06 or newer 1500, non Mega-Cab...

But it's not going to get you much (if any better) MPG's. However, I don't know what you expect from a truck that makes almost 350 HP at the crank! My '04 QCSB Hemi 4x4 is over 7000# with lift and mods and still gets me much better gas mileage than my '98 RCSB 5.9 4x4 and is only about 1 mpg worse than my Chevy Z71 with the 5.3 V8, neither of which were anywhere in the same league with the Hemi as far as power...

true, but they shouldn't be advertising about the " fuel saving " feature of the multi displacement system getting 19 mpg on the highway, it doesn't help .

I had MDS off for a little while but noticed the truck was drinking a lot of gas while cruising on the highway ~65 mph so I turned it back on. MDS doesn't work for me at 70+ mph. Optimal for MDS is 45-65 mph.

I just leave it on because it doesn't hurt... The drone is annoying though.
